General Information
I am member of Grenoble Informatics Laboratory and a full Professor of Computer Science at the Grenoble Institute of Technology (Grenoble INP) in France since 1999. Before that I spent nine years at Joseph Fourier University (UJF,Grenoble) as an assistant professor and one year at the MCC Consortium (Austin, USA).
Since 1991, I have been the head of several research projects in the database field and has directed 17 PhD theses. From 1994 to 1997 I was responsible of the IMAG project named STORM on Actives, Temporal and Multimedia Object Data Servers. Then, I took the head of the database management group (HADAS http://hadas.imag.fr/) currently comprised of fifteen persons.
I have been co-director of the LSR Laboratory from 2002 to 2007 and the representative of the ICT labs (around 1000 persons) at the Grenoble research department from 2001 to 2007. Since april 2007 I am the Deputy Vice president for research of Grenoble INP.
Teaching activities
My teachning activities mainly concerns Database systems and mediation infrastructure. Given classes are:

Research activities
My research domain concerns databases and their evolution in terms of data models, languages and architectures. More precisely I contributed or still contributes to research activities on:
• Object and Active Databases, Distributed and Heterogeneous Databases
• Query processing in opportunistic networks and service-based applications
• reliable and adaptive service coordination
• mashing up reliable semantics services for clouds
I am curently involved in projects combining database techniques(OPTIMACS), service-based infrastructure (ORCHESTRA, RedSHINE), network management (UBIQUEST). More details at http://hadas.imag.fr/
